Dark and romantic was the setting for this Halloween inspired wedding. Notes of black and gold were used to compliment the elegant and edgy theme. The guests received personalized hand-lettered calligraphy invitations that hinted to the ambience of the evening and foreshadowed the modern twist of this non-traditional wedding. The CL Space located in Ybor City provided the perfect backdrop with it’s industrial feel, brick walls, exposed ceiling and concrete floor. The focal point of the ceremony space were the oversized wood frame windows that filtered the room with just enough light to set the mood among multiple candlelit glass vases.

Guest dined on black lace draped candlelit tables with matching tableware and accented gold cutlery, while pumpkins of gold and black helped tie the theme together. The couples’ cake was the showstopper of the evening. Three tiers of gold-dripped black fondant cake, brushed with gold leaf flakes, and topped with a handcrafted edible top hat and accent roses was nothing short of a masterpiece.

The bride resembled a gothic dream, one even Elvira herself would be jealous of. A black, trumpet-mermaid, long sleeve gown with Mary Jane stilettos and a gold skeleton hand hair clip held back her dark curls. Carrying a trendy untamed bouquet of red roses and assorted wildflowers dusted in black, added a pop of color as she walked down the isle. The groom was dressed in fitted black slacks and a white button down with complementing black suspenders and bowtie. The finishing detail was the red rose boutineer that was held together by the bride’s matching gold skeleton hand.

Together hand in hand, the newly Mr. & Mrs. faded into the night where October, pumpkins and Halloween will always hold a special place in their heart. Their wedding was a true reflection of their nontraditional love story and their bold, elegant, and beautiful unfiltered life.

“My dearest friend, if you don’t mind, I’d like to join you by your side. Where we could gaze into the stars and sit together now and forever, for it is plain as anyone could see, we’re simply meant to be.” -The Nightmare Before Christmas
