Engagement Photos in Downtown St. Pete // A+J

Alyssa and Jared made the trip up from Fort Myers to run around with me for their engagement photos in St. Pete. Boats, breweries, and bubbles were the perfect backdrop for this adventurous couple, even when we had to dodge the evening showers. Sorry Mother Nature, but you can’t rain on this parade!

The proposal: Alyssa and Jared met their senior year of high school. When they met, Alyssa thought Jared looked familiar but she couldn’t figure out why. Soon she found out that Jared’s dad lived across the street from Alyssa’s grandmom. After talking more, they both realized that their families had even been on vacation together before and Alyssa even has a picture of Jared with her little siblings before they ever knew each other. Jared is an ice hockey goalie and has been for his entire life. Hockey is very important to him and quickly became a big part of their relationship. They chose to go to college together at Florida Gulf Coast University where Jared continued his hockey career. Over the next 4 years, Alyssa spent every weekend at the rink watching him play and cheering him on. At his final home game during the senior night celebrations, Jared called Alyssa out onto the ice for a “picture”. While the picture was being taken, Jared’s teammates were holding a sign behind them that asked Alyssa to marry him and the rest was history!

For Alyssa and Jared’s session we started off in North Straub Park and walked around the museum, park, and marina before we headed over to the Historic District of Downtown St. Pete.
