Women's Club St Pete Wedding // Mr. & Mrs. Chlapowski
My last wedding not only of 2019, but also the decade brings a lot of reflecting, more on that later. What I want to share first are these two beautiful souls that rounded out this epic year with me. Sarah and Taylor first met at a presentation at USF (go bulls!) about careers in Linguistics in 2014 (Cooper Hall, Room 487). Sarah had just started the Applied Linguistics MA program, and Taylor was contemplating starting grad school. They chatted before and after the presentation, and Taylor decided to ask Sarah to go grab coffee, but he turned to thank a former professor for the invite to the event and when he turned back Sarah had gone. Fortunately for both of them, serendipity struck in a big way. Almost exactly one year later at the start of the spring semester, they found themselves enrolled in a Sociolinguistics class together—in (guess which room) Cooper Hall, Room 487. Fast forward to almost four years of dating, a move to Atlanta, and Taylor starting his PhD, Taylor proposed at their favorite spot by the Chattahoochee River which brings us to their Women’s Club St Pete wedding day.
Their wedding day started like most, the girls and guys got ready in separate spaces anxiously awaiting the ceremony to begin. However, Mother Nature had different plans and after a 30 minute rain delay, the bridal party rallied and transformed the reception space into the ceremony site. They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, “a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie”, while it also symbolizes cleansing and fertility. The weather in Florida is always unforeseen and sometimes you just gotta roll with it. The ceremony came together beautifully and do you know what the best part was? Sarah and Taylor became husband and wife. Although the rain never stopped that day, we did manage to grab some photos outside while it was sprinkling. The shots we got during that time were totally worth getting a little wet for. The rest of the evening was filled with yummy greek food, a fantastic choreographed chicken dance, and key lime pie! Sarah and Taylor, even when things didn’t go as planned you rolled with the punches and never let anything get in the way of enjoying every moment together and because of that, your day was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to close out this amazing year with at the Women’s Club St Pete wedding venue.
