Palm River Wedding // Mr. + Mrs. Nielsen
Casey and Eric tied the knot in their backyard for this Palm River wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. This intimate wedding to celebrate new beginnings, togetherness, and family came at a time when we all needed it most. Weddings tend to be pretty high stress in general and even with a looming pandemic, Casey was a chill as a cucumber and I admired that so much. She was barefoot the entire day and danced the night away. I would never wish these circumstances upon anyone, but Casey and Eric did not let it put a damper on a their Palm River wedding day that they’ve been planning for over a year. Due to Covid-19 and the recent guidelines posted by the CDC, a lot of modifications went into making sure Casey and Eric could still have their wedding while keeping their loved ones safe. They added bottles of hand sanitizer to all the tables and even “elbow bumped” when they were pronounced husband and wife before they sealed their vows with a kiss. Some guests weren’t able to attend which included Casey’s 90 year old abuelo. Casey is very close with her abuelo and was understandably upset that he wasn’t going to be able to attend her wedding. On our way to her ceremony, her abuelo surprised her by driving by in his pickup truck to see Casey before she walked down the aisle, flowers in hand. He told her how beautiful she looked and gave her a blessing. It was so heartwarming to witness and capture. While we’re all trying to adjust to what’s going on in the world and do our best to keep one another safe, it was refreshing to spend one last day with a little sense of of normalcy. Even with all the modifications, this Palm River wedding day was still as perfect as it gets because Casey and Eric got married.
