Wedding at Sunken Gardens // Mr. + Mrs. Barbone

If a wedding day could be built by a photographer, AKA me, this wedding at Sunken Gardens with Mr. & Mrs. Barbone would be it. Why? Nicole and Nick put so much thought into their portraits on their wedding day which gave me multiple locations, time, and space to get creative with them. A much needed fresh breath of air from rushed photo timelines! But I’m getting ahead of myself. The day started at Salon 2510 with the girls finishing up hair and makeup before we departed on the trolley the Hollander Hotel to meet up with the boys. In the privacy of their own hotel room, Nicole and Nick choose to share their first look and spend a couple of moments alone together. Before we hopped back on the trolley to hit the town, we took some portraits in the lobby of the Hollander because how can you not? Like I was saying, Nicole and Nick hired a private trolley and picked out some of their favorite spots around St. Pete for us to stop and take photos. If you know me, you know I LOVE doing mural photo shoots and I’ve always wanted to take wedding portraits in front of the murals too. Well today was the day and I was not disappointed. Back on the trolley we stopped at one last place, North Shore Park, where I took Nicole and Nick’s engagement photos. When we finally arrived for this wedding at Sunken Gardens, Nicole had arranged for us to take photos in the flamingo enclosure which was such a fun surprise! Who doesn’t love adding some pops of pink in the form of birds into their photos? It was time for the ceremony where instead of everyone being announced into the reception, the DJ announced everyone walking down the aisle into the ceremony. It was a unique and fun way to mix things up and I personally loved capturing Nicole and Nick dance down the aisle together. Readings, vows, and a special toast were shared before cocktail hour kicked off the rest of the evening. A special first dance between Nick and Nicole was also shared between their parents and the evening even featured a special performance by Nick. There were so many special touches to this wedding day, just like the matching tattoos Mr. & Mrs. Barbone share to commemorate their marriage. I loved capturing every second!
