Cypress Point Park Engagement // D+B
The second I met Donna and Bobby for their Cypress Point Park engagement session I knew it was going to be a good time. Their energy was contagious and they were both naturals! Every time I work with a new couple for a session, almost always the first thing out of their mouth is “we’re bad at pictures” or “we’ve never done this before”. Those statements, while totally understandable, are usually not true (besides never having pictures taken before) and for Donna and Bobby it was the exact opposite! They were naturals which made my job so much more fun and enjoyable. Donna and Bobby suggested Cypress Point Park for their engagement session and crazily enough I had never been there. I’m always open to new locations and to my surprise this park was gorgeous and perfect for a photo shoot. It was also packed with other photographers doing other sessions as well but considering it’s Christmas card season I wasn’t surprised. Anywhere you go this time of year during “golden hour” there is going to be a slew of photographers getting in those family photos. Luckily we’re all pretty respectful of each other and our space so it’s personally never been a problem for me. We started Donna and Bobby’s session by the coolest purple sea grass that looked so whimsical the way the light was hitting it as the sun was making its descent towards the horizon line. We took a little tour around the park, finding the best spots for the next outfit change and sunset. After a quick outfit change, we went down to the beach to play in the sand and it was go time (AKA sunset time)! Donna and Bobby were more than ready to embrace the chilly water and end their session in the bay as the sun went down. Another reason I loved working with these two!
