Ybor City Museum Wedding
On a very uncharacteristic Florida day the weather called for cold and rain. Thankfully the rain held off and although it was chilly I can guarantee this is the first wedding where I didn’t sweat! I started the morning with Alecia and her crew at Hotel Haya as the girls got ready and I photographed her gorgeous details. Alecia’s room had the most perfect balcony for photos so we took advantage of the prime real estate and snapped her bridal portraits and bridesmaid photos before heading off to meet Sean for the first look. Meanwhile down the block, Sean and his crew got ready with my second shooter before settling in at the bar at Gaspar’s while they waited for Alecia to arrive. Once we were all in the same place, Alecia and Sean’s first look went off without a hitch and was sealed with cinnamon toast crunch shots. That will warm ya up! In front of Gaspar’s Alecia had a surprise for Sean. She had a paver engraved with their names and wedding date right outside the bar where they had their very first date. Now they’re officially part of Ybor City history! We walked around Ybor for Alecia and Sean’s portraits and ended right at their Ybor City Museum wedding venue where they were hidden away before the ceremony began. The ceremony kicked off and the sun even decided to come out for the first time that day, as the best man said in his speech, it was like the heavens opened up. After Alecia and Sean were officially announced husband and wife, it was time for wedding party photos and to chase down a street car for more portraits. Whether it’s a rooster or a street car, if you’re getting married in Ybor you have to have one or the other. The rest of the night was filled with dinner, drinks, Bundt Cakes, and dancing. I had so much fun working with the Ruane’s for their Ybor City Museum wedding day, let’s do it again next year okay? ?
