I

I was so excited to work with Summer and Muhammed for their engagement session at Philippe Park! It’s really crazy with the amount of times I’ve photographed at this park in Safety Harbor for all things engagement, wedding, maternity, and grad photos- each time the photos come out different depending on the type of weather we have during the session. This is why weather and lighting play a huge factor when getting your portraits done. A cloudy day will not generate the same results as a sunny day. Photographing in the afternoon versus the evening will also yield completely different images. So even though I start my sessions about an hour before sunset, I’ve had every type of weather day during that last hour light and it still brings in different results. For me, I love it! It really separates the professionals from the amateurs by how you’re able to work with different lighting and how you can maintain your same editing style despite the circumstances. All that to say, wow I really got off track there, is that with how far our we planned Summer and Muhammed’s engagement session at Philippe Park, I was curious to see what kind of weather we’d have for their session. The entire week leading up to their shoot was cold and rainy. We actually moved their shoot a day earlier to avoid some anticipated rain and we sure did. Even though the entire day was gray and cold, by some miracle the sun came out just for our session! It was perfect temps and perfect vibes! Summer and Muhammed’s outfits paired so well with the greenery around the park that had become more muted in the winter months and the sun really helped bring in the warm tones we were all hoping for. But the real stars of the show were Summer and Muhammed’s pups, Bali and Benny, who were such a fun addition to the session.
