Wedding at the Barn // Mr. + Mrs. Yalamanchili

What a day, what a day! Casie and Rajiv’s wedding at the Barn at Crescent Lake was one for the books. Two things happened at this wedding that haven’t happened to me in my 10+ years of photographing weddings. The first being it rained. all. day. From start to finish there was never a break in the rain. Secondly, there was a power outage during the reception for about an hour. These two unusual events could have really put a major damper on Casie and Rajiv’s wedding and when I say it didn’t even phase them, I’m not just saying that to be nice. These two took every curve ball that was thrown at them that day and ran with it! Not only were Casie and Rajiv totally unfazed, they were pumped about the rain! Not many couples get to take epic rain shots and epic rain shots are what we got! Even though the wedding at the Barn at Crescent Lake is primarily an outdoor wedding venue, there were so many spaces for us to take photos while Casie and Rajiv stayed dry. Not many venues have the opportunity to stay dry and under cover while also being outside. This was key for our photos and even though I was the one in the rain, I wouldn’t have it any other way for these two and these shots. During the reception right as we were getting into speeches, the power went out. Honestly no one even reacted and the speeches still carried on without a microphone and I was able to photograph with my flash. The venue was lit by the ambient light of the candles placed on the tables and honestly it was a vibe. Once the speeches were over the DJ was able to get the generator hooked up and crank the music so the party started without a hitch. It was chilly outside because of the rain so all the windows and doors to the venue were opened. A/C who? Listen I could go on and on about these two and this incredible day but I’ll let the photos do the talking. Mr. + Mrs. Yalamanchili, y’all are the real deal and I loved every second working with you!
